Dipping a toe in a hyperbolic pool

So last night I began a piece of hyperbolic crochet. Playing around but intrigued by all the amazing organic shapes I’ve seen.

At first my work looked like little more than a disc… (1sc, Inc) repeated over and over. But then the edges began to lift and form rolls. 🙂

I’m now recieving a steady flow of amazing ideas. Ways I can use these forms in interesting ways 🙂

I tried hyperbolic crochet once before, and I was amazed at how 6sc in a ring could expand and expand until I had hundreds and hundreds of stitches! I had meant to carry on until I had a great big ball of waves and rolls, but ran out of yarn 🙂

  4. I tried somewhere uptill this point a couple of years ago, and then lost my patience doing the sc. Those days I used to hate doing SC because your work seems never ending..also I found hyperbolic crochet consumes a lot of yarn so gave up midway.

Great beginning you have made. I am loving the way it is taking shape. Without dipping into your pool will follow along from a distance 🙂
